The goal is simple: help you find a great local scoop, not just the nearest chain.
Shop listings are compiled from open and public sources, including OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL), Overture Maps open data, shops' own websites, and submissions from owners. We merge duplicate records, drop places that are not ice cream shops, and sort each style into the right category based on the shop's name and description.
Independent and small-batch shops are listed before national chains. Chains are still included, because sometimes they are the only option nearby, but they appear lower on the page. Within a town, shops with more complete details (hours, phone, website) and better ratings rank higher. Paid featured spots are clearly labeled and never change a shop's ratings.
